Spreadshirt prints digital and flex decals as well as offering screenprinting for bulk orders of the same design on the same shirt to keep costs reasonable. Digital and flex methods of printing are popular because of their durability and flexibility but aren't the most cost effective for large orders. The site doesn’t offer an embroidery option. 

Spreadshirt accepts images in common file types like GIF, PNG and JPEG but they prefer images to be uploaded as EPS vector graphics. In terms of quality these images transfer from computer to material the best.

Additionally, they highly encourage members to create and open a shop. Here, you can sell your custom images and receive a commission through Spreadshirt.

Design Features:  

This is the only online designer that has the ability to print on the sleeves without having to call the company and speak directly to a designer. The online designer is an easy-to-use, powerful tool that allows you a considerable amount of control when designing your attire. In addition to importing your own images as well as choosing from a selection of the site’s clip art, you can flip and rotate the graphics. Text can be placed in addition to art; you can change font, color, size, and rotation. This was the only online custom t–shirt designer we reviewed that allowed you to bold or italicize your text.

Apparel Options:  

Spreadshirt has several clothing options available in various colors, but not nearly as many style options as some other services. Their market seems to be aimed at teens and young adults. They have additional items including mouse pads and canvas sneakers and totes and they also offer children and infant apparel items. The site adds new products monthly and you can easily access them by selecting the “New Products” tab to see the latest offerings.

Help/Support:  

They have a large FAQs section you can access from home page. It details ordering information, submissions, guidelines and more. There is also a small help section in the designer workshop but most of our questions were answered on the FAQs pages and our email was responded to in a couple of days.
