Style, flexibility and quality are the name of the game at Spreadshirt, our “TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award” winning custom t–shirt service. Spreadshirt’s custom online t–shirt designer provides some of the most unique features we reviewed, including the ability to print on sleeves, flip images and bold text. They also support an online store where you can sell or purchase t–shirts.
Although Spreadshirt provides some of the coolest features available in custom design, their service seems more geared towards individual use by teens and young adults, rather than large orders Since they only offer digital and flex printing, large orders can become costly. Screen printing is generally a more cost effective option for large orders, if you need this option you may want to consider Uberprints or CustomInk.
Spreadshirt doesn’t offer a traditional screen printing option or embroidery. Alternatively, they print digital and flex decals. These methods of printing are popular because of their durability and flexibility. However, this method is not the most cost effective for large orders. Although you can order more than one shirt, this is not the best option for sports teams or organizations.
Although Spreadshirt accepts images in common file types like GIF, PNG and JPEG they prefer images to be uploaded as EPS vector graphics. In terms of quality these images transfer from computer to material the best.
Additionally, they highly encourage members to create and open a shop. Here, you can sell your custom images and receive a commission through Spreadshirt.
This was the only online designer that has the ability to print on the sleeves without having to call the company and speak directly to a designer. The online designer is an easy to use, powerful tool that allows you a considerable amount of control when designing your attire. In addition to importing your own images as well as choosing from a selection, you can flip and rotate the graphics. Text can be placed in addition to art; you can change front, color, size, and rotation. This was the only online custom t–shirt designer we reviewed that allowed you to bold or italicize your text.
There are several clothing options available in various colors, but not nearly as many style options as some other services. Their market seems to be more for teens and young adults. Woman’s wear and youth is somewhat sparse. They also have additional items including mouse pads and canvas sneakers.
They have a large FAQ you can access from home page. It details ordering information, submissions, guidelines and more. However, this is offset by a small help section in the designer workshop. Most of our questions were answered in the FAQ, and our email was responded to in a couple of days.
Spreadshirt includes one of the most powerful online designers we reviewed. By incorporating unique features like placing images on sleeves, flipping images and bolding and italicizing text, Spreadshirt appeals to a young, unique audience looking to express their individuality.
